Situate in the southwestern coastal area of Guangdong China, Maoming has under its jurisdiction Maonan District, Maogang District, Dianbai County and the cities of Xinyi, Gaozhou and Huazhou at county's level. Maoming has covers an area of 11,455 sq. km, with a population of 7.16 million. In 2007, the gross domestic product (GDP) was 106.65 billion RMB, up by 13.1 percent over the previous year.
